The Customs Administration Department provides compliance support to both Carmichael employees and Carmichael customers and Pre-Classification services to Carmichael customers.
This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Pre-Classification for multiple Customers. Assist customers with classification advice during product development.
Government agency import requirements research such as FDA, CPSC, and Department of Agriculture requirements. Over 40 agencies are involved in the importer process.
Must also assist in interpreting anti-dumping and countervailing duty scopes and cases.
Assist coworkers on research projects for specific daily entries.
Assist importers with compliance challenges such as requests for information, actions taken by CBP and penalty situations. Help importers develop classifications for product lines and help them understand regulatory requirements.
Seasons need to be pre-classed timely prior to shipping

Customs Compliance/Classification Training at Customers request
5 years Customs broker experience
Strong Communication skills, computer skills, and analytical skills. Good writing skills are a plus.
